Andrew Quinn
Hermosa Inn

Each year, Experience Scottsdale profiles a selection of local celebrities, from restaurateurs and sports figures to artists and adventurers. We invite you to meet this year’s luminaries and find out what they have to say about living, working and enjoying life in Scottsdale.

"I want our guests to have an experience they'll want to relive again and again, because this is such a special place," says Andrew Quinn, a member of the guest services staff at LON's at the Hermosa Inn. "Lon Megargee built the Hermosa Inn with such love that when you're here, there's a feeling of everything being right with the world."

Hand-built from adobe clay by Cowboy Artist Lon Megargee as his home and studio, The Hermosa Inn embraces guests in its serene desert setting and Southwestern elegance. The property's 34 guest rooms offer boutique accommodations that pair modern-day comforts with traditional Arizona charm. And at LON's, the Inn's award-winning restaurant, Quinn imparts a warm welcome and is delighted to share his knowledge of the Inn's colorful history.

"People are fascinated with Lon Megargee's art," says Quinn. "I love to show them his painting, ‘The Last Drop From His Stetson,' which we have hanging in the bar, and tell them how it became the logo that Stetson imprints on the silk lining of all its premium cowboy hats."

Quinn's personal history with the Hermosa Inn goes back to his childhood, when he and his family enjoyed Sunday brunches at LON's. "I grew up in this neighborhood," says Quinn. "As kids, we rode our bikes down the canal to the Hermosa Inn. The tree out in front of Lon's was full and thick, and we'd get up there where no one could see us. In our minds, the tree was our Starship Enterprise."

Quinn readily admits that he's never met a stranger and comes by his love of people naturally. "My father was in customer service in the insurance business and my mother just retired four years ago from the Paradise Valley Country Club, where she was the front desk manager. I learned by their example to believe in being yourself and to enjoy the life that you have and the people who surround you."
