Scottsdale has some of the most amazing resorts you’ll find anywhere. In fact, with options ranging from full-service luxury to hip boutique resorts, Dave and I always find that choosing where to stay during our Scottsdale getaway is the toughest decision to make! Here are a few of our favorites to get you started.

in the shadow of Pinnacle Peak, the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is a gorgeous desert sanctuary that boasts plush casita accommodations, territorial-style architecture and fabulous scenic views. The resort also offers private poolside cabanas, golf at nearby Troon North, outstanding cuisine at Talavera and suites equipped with private plunge pools, garden showers and telescopes for exploring the night sky.

Championship golf at TPC Scottsdale is virtually next door and the Willow Stream Spa offers luscious treatments like the Arizona Aloe Wrap (perfect if you’ve spent a little too much time in the sun). And don’t miss Dave’s favorite amenity: Sonoran Splash, the resort’s expansive water park that’s home to two of the state’s longest water slides.

another favorite for kids of all ages is the Lazy River at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa. This 900-foot inner-tube float is part of the resort’s Adventure Water Park, which includes a 110-foot water slide. The resort also offers 27 holes of desert golf; Agave, the Arizona Spa; and mouthwatering cuisine at Deseo and seven other on-property restaurants and lounges. Tip: Check out “Unwind,” an evening ritual at Deseo Lounge that features specialty muddle drinks and live art in action with resident artist Nelson Garcia Miranda.

you’ll find a host of activities and adventures, including Friday night performances by the Native Traditions Dance Troupe. Dave loved his off-road tour in a you-drive-it Tom Car with Green Zebra Adventures. For me, it was all about relaxation at the resort’s Spa Avania, which pampers guests with treatments tailored the body’s daily rhythm of awakening (morning), rejuvenating (midday) and unwinding (evening).
