Friday, February 10, 2012 Hashknife Pony Express Location: Hashknife Sculpture - Scottsdale Waterfront Times: 12:00 p.m. - Mail arrives Admission: Free Neither rain, sleet, nor dark of night can stop the Hashknife Pony Express. Each year for the last 53 years, the old west is brought to life as an elite group of riders thunder through Arizona. This exciting event is the oldest officially sanctioned Pony Express in the world. Each rider is sworn in as an honorary mail messenger braving weather, terrain, and modern-day obstacles to deliver the United States mail.The Hashknife Pony Express makes its ride every January traveling 200 miles from Holbrook to Scottsdale, Arizona, and delivering 20,000 first-class letters by horseback. Parada del Sol Parade Location: Downtown Scottsdale Times: 10:00am Admission: Free The Scottsdale Jaycees proudly present the Parada del Sol Parade. This parade has the distinction of being known as the "World's Largest Horsedrawn Parade". The Parade route runs north up Scottsdale Road from Oak to Indian School. With close to 150 parade entries anticipated this year, this is an event to be experienced. So plan on grabbing a seat, your friends and family and come hang out at the Parada del Sol.
The annual Trail's End Celebration Time: Immediately follows the parade Admission: Free The party will begin immediately following the Parada del Sol Parade. The Trail's End party will take place in Old Town Scottsdale on 1st Avenue and Main St, between Brown Rd and Scottsdale Road. This is a huge block party for all ages, including the Kid's Area with games, pony rides and much more. There will be many food and merchandise vendors located throughout the area.
