The Inside Scoop

In this video, Christy, her husband Dave (behind the camera) and their friends take you along for a night out in downtown Scottsdale. Here is Christy’s inside scoop on the stops highlighted in the video.

Old Town Tortilla Factory

One of the things we love most about Scottsdale,...
is that you can eat outside practically year round. And with its hacienda-style patio shaded by 100-year-old pecan trees, Old Town Tortilla Factory is one of our favorite stops. For happy hour, try the Chorizo Fundido or Nachos del Sol – think super-crunchy chips, spicy chorizo and plenty of cheesy-gooey goodness. Don’t pass up their specialty margaritas (the patio bar features more than 100 premium tequilas).

Next, we headed to a trifecta of great...
nightlife spots at Stetson and 6th Avenue. On the corner, Cowboy Ciao is a fun, funky blend of Italy and the Wild West, offering specialties like Wild Boar Meatballs and an Exotic Mushroom Pan Fry. Next door at FnB, you’ll find sophisticated comfort food and a spectacular all-Arizona wine list. But since it was Monday night, we headed straight to Kazimierz world wine bar to hear legendary jazz and blues vocalist Margo Reed and enjoy a Stetson Chopped salad (imported all the way from Cowboy Ciao) and some tasty Egyptian Flatbread pizzas.

Rusty Spur Saloon

We could have walked to our next stop,...
but arriving at the Rusty Spur Saloon in a horse-drawn carriage was too much fun to pass up. The Spur offers live country music and dancing 364 days a year by local faves like the weekend headliner, Psychobilly Rodeo Band. While you’re there, tack a dollar bill or two to the Spur’s wall – at the end of the year, all the bills are taken down and donated to a local charity.

If the club scene is more your style,...
Scottsdale won’t disappoint. Our first stop was Cream Stereo Lounge, where DJs spin world-class music and professional entertainers lend an international club scene feel. Next, we headed over to sexy siblings Axis/Radius. These two distinct clubs share the same venue (they’re joined by a catwalk), but offer totally different experiences. At Axis you’ll hear Top 40 and R&B, while Radius vibrates with house, techno and trance mixes. And at Suede, art deco décor, suede-paneled walls and award-winning DJs keep the excitement going, while the frost-top bar chills specialty martinis and fine wines to perfection.

Innovative cocktails, Euro-inspired beats and VIP tables with bottle service add to the swank atmosphere.

Café ZuZu

Website: www.hotelvalleyho.com
After a night of dancing and club-hopping,...
we were ready for a hearty breakfast. Café ZuZu at downtown’s Hotel Valley Ho fit the bill with Dave’s favorite, the ZuZu Breakfast Casserole, a yummy blend of sweet Italian sausage, roasted potatoes, veggies and cheddar cheese topped with sour cream or a poached egg. I opted for the Stuffed French Toast, a velvety, sweet-tooth satisfying plateful of thickly sliced brioche stuffed with lemon cream cheese and fresh berries.
