Shopping , Sports & Theater

If you’re a shop-a-holic, head to Scottsdale Fashion Square (7014 E. Camelback Rd.). New stores include designer boutiques by fashion icons Betsey Johnson, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo and Jimmy Choo. Other shopping hot-spots include the Borgata of Scottsdale (6166 N. Scottsdale Rd.) and Kierland Commons (15205 N. Kierland Blvd.).

If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll want to be sure to explore miles of hiking, mountain biking and backpacking trails. If you like the rough and tumble of women’s rugby, check out the Scottsdale Lady Blues and try to catch a spring or fall season game.

Eat dinner at AZ 88 (7353 E. Scottsdale Mall). It’s affordable yet classy, and boasts a well-stocked bar, so you can pair your au poivre burger with a fancy French 75 cocktail or an espresso martini.

If you’re in the mood for theater tonight, check the listings for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts (7380 E. 2nd St.), which often features edgy, GLBT-relevant performances. If you want to take in a movie, swing by the Harkins Camelview 5 (7001 East Highland Avenue); the theater has the hosted Outfar! Gay and Lesbian Film festival in years past, and even the trailers for the independent films shown at the Camelview are like nothing you’ll see in a more mainstream venue.
