A Latin Jazz concert, produced by the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, will keep your feet moving from 8-10 p.m. This concert will give you a peek at the first
Scottsdale Latin Jazz Festival debuting Nov. 13-15, 2009. Featured artists include the ASU Latin Jazz Ensemble (featuring students from nearby Arizona State University who play everything from traditional Cuban Son, Cha Cha and Mambo to contemporary Brazilian) and Joe Garcia Y La Conexion (a Latin-Jazz Quintet dedicated to the preservation of musical compositions written by some of the world's preeminent jazz composers and musicians).

The Big Pour event, a beer festival sponsored by
DRAFT Magazine Nov. 13-15 in downtown Scottsdale. La Vida Locavore will serve up grab-n-go items featuring all local ingredients and more than 40 beer vendors featuring organic beers or sustainable brewing practices will be present.

- City of Scottsdale: Nestled in the heart of the desert southwest, Scottsdale has a long tradition of being committed to sustainability. From the way we plan, to the way we build, to the way we play, Scottsdale has been on the forefront of the "green" movement for over a decade. Let us share with you all the ways SCOTTSDALE IS GREEN!
- Cosanti Foundation: In 1956, Paolo Soleri and his late wife, Colly, incorporated the Cosanti Foundation, a not-for-profit educational organization devoted to the support of Soleri's noted architectural and urban planning research. The Foundation focuses on educating, ensuring the continuing construction of Arcosanti and hosting educational and cultural conference. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: A photographic exhibit of the various facets of Cosanti Foundation.
- Edwards Design Group: The Edwards Design Groups is committed to protecting the earth and its inhabitants through green building practices. The Edwards Design Group has helped develop construction techniques that utilize energy efficient, recycled and locally produced materials. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: Large-scale photographs of completed buildings and work in progress. You will be able to walk through this exhibit and actually touch, lift and feel regionally-appropriate materials.
- McDowell Sonoran Conservancy: The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy champions the completion and sustainability of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve for the benefit of this and future generations. We will create a 'virtual preserve' experience to include rock climbing ropes and harness that participants can try on, hiking 101 demonstrations, food from the desert interactive display and trail maps.
- Scottsdale Public Art: The mission of the Scottsdale Public Art Program is to make Scottsdale one of the most desirable communities in the country in which to live, work and visit by incorporating art and design projects throughout. At Green Street, Scottsdale Public Art will host a Soleri Bridge information station where attendees will have the opportunity to envision the future bridge spanning the canal in addition to learning more about Paolo Soleri, his legacy, and his bridge in Scottsdale. At twenty-seven feet wide on the south end and narrowing to eighteen feet on the north, the bridge connects Fashion Square and the Waterfront shops to Southbridge and Gallery districts south of the Arizona Canal in Downtown Scottsdale.
Ollie the Trolley will provide free transportation from the Valley Metro Light Rail to a stop at the north end of Marshall Way Bridge.

- French Designer Jeweler: The store features original creations by 25 artists from around the world, who use unusual gemstones and precious metals. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: A one man show of jewelry by Kit Carson, who uses the images of the indigenous plants and wildlife of Arizona in his designs.
- Gallery Russia: Specializes exclusively in fine art from Russia and the former Soviet Union, importing original artwork since 1992.
- Gebert Contemporary: Contemporary abstract non-objective painting, sculpture and photography. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: Mixed media artist Mark Vinci uses recycled billboard material, cut into strips and mounted on board to create unique collages. Bright colors make for an unusual fluidity of movement, blurring images to recreate the experience of buzzing by cityscapes, bright lights and moving traffic.
- Guidon Books: Has been located on Main Street since 1964 and features an extensive collection of new and out-of-print books on the American Civil War and Western Americana.
- Joan Cawley Gallery: Established 1974, Joan Cawley is one of the most popular Southwest contemporary galleries in the country. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: Furniture and metal works made using recycled material. Artists Chirs Palin, Robert Rwela, T-Bud and Chai and Heidi Beck will be present.
- King Galleries: Is nationally renowned for its focus on contemporary and traditional Native American pottery. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: "Tourniquet: The Clay Art and Fashion Design of Virgil Ortiz", who has designed for Dona Karan and will introduce his new fall 2009 T-shirt collection for crafted from organic cotton and bamboo, a renewable resource. The imagery is based on the creation of Native American superheroes Ortiz is bringing to life with his animated feature film and comic book series currently in production.

- Overland Gallery: The work of premier American artists: Gary Ernest Smith, Ed Mell, Martin Grelle, Joseph Lorusso and David Leffel. Overland also has a major collection of Russian Impressionism from the Soviet period.
- Paul Scott Gallery: Is a venue for a select group of classically-trained artists working in diverse styles ranging from realism to non-representational abstract. This group of internationally acclaimed artists currently represents over 10 nations.
- Rive Gauche Art Galleries: Houses a large collection of traditional and contemporary paintings and bronze sculptures, from nationally and internationally award-winning artists. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: German Artist Gabriele Koenig-Rewis will have a show opening and will be at the opening reception to answer questions and meet with attendees.
- River Trading Post: Features both antique and contemporary traditionally made American Indian Art, including Navajo weavings, Hopi Kachinas, stone sculpture, hand-coiled pottery, sliver jewelry and plains beadwork. Traditional American Indian Art is by definition 'green' as it is constructed solely of natural elements - clay, wood, wool and stone. American Indians are the original recyclers by incorporating elements that had outlived their purpose into new and useful objects.
- S.R. Brennen Gallery of Fine Art: Has been featuring renowned America and European artists for more than 20 years on Main Street and over 30 years in the United States.
- Scottsdale Fine Art: Showcases original representational art with works in impressionistic, traditional and realistic styles. Oil paintings, bronze and ceramic sculpture, watercolor and pastels adorn this spacious Main Street gallery. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: Artist painting demonstration by still life painter Tim Perkins.

- Xanadu Gallery: Is Scottsdale's most vibrant and eclectic gallery, specializing in contemporary kinetic and bronze sculpture, representational and abstract paintings, and handblown glass. Featured for Green Street Scottsdale: Artists Andrew Smith and John & Elli Milan will be at Xanadu Gallery. Andrew will demonstrate his amazing kinetic sculptures made of recycled materials and found objects. John and Elli will speak about their "Conservation" series on display at the gallery that night.
Artist Demonstrations and LIve Music: - Laurie Nessel Designs featuring artist Laurie Nessel: Laurie will demonstrate the ancient art of core-formed vessels (developed in Mesopotamia 4,000 years ago) using modern equipment and materials. She will be using glass recycled from the hotshop at the Mesa Arts Center. Rods of glass are softened in a flame and wound around a core made of steel wool dipped in refractory slurry.
- Community Love by artist Jesse Fairchild: An experiment in community cooperation and "synergy art," this project is a community project-dozens of volunteers will help paint signs that feature positive words. These signs will then be used in a performance by a crew of volunteers displaying the signs on street corners in proximity to one another to create a visual sequencing and impact.

Artist Demonstrations and LIve Music: - McDowell Sonoran Conservancy Photo Exhibit: Will exhibit select photos from the 2009 Focus on Conservation Photography Exhibit in the courtyard on Marshall Way, with MSC Steward Photographers explaining the photographs. Photo books will available for sale at the event, with the artists available to sign the books.
- Doppler Design featuring artists Joshua Dopp: Arizona Mobile Glass Studio, the Highway Hotshop, is owned and run by Joshua Dopp and Adam Frus. Glass is one of the oldest recyclable materials and the highway hotshop believes in supporting all things green. We will be showing our glass equipment and some of the many objects which we make from recycled glass.
- Flamedancer Beads featuring artist Dolly Ahles: A lampworking demonstration featuring stringer pulling, goldstone stringer pulling, hollow bead demonstration and floral bead demonstration.
- Live Action Mural featuring artist Ryan Griffin: Sketches onto a drawing tablet will project large-scale ephemeral visions onto the exterior of a building in Downtown Scottsdale. Light Graffiti, also known as light painting, takes what you think you know about graffiti and turns it on its head.

Art Galleries, Restaurants & Businesses - ArtScene: Created by Margaret and Christine Wertheim of the Institute for Figuring (IFF), the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Project is "a woolly celebration of the intersection of higher geometry and feminine handicraft." The crochet reef has received worldwide acclaim through previous exhibitions. The project consists of a crocheted coral reef exhibit featuring loopy kelps, fringed anemones, spiraling corals, and tendrilled jellyfish. The exhibit celebrates the craft of crochet and also raises awareness of the potential connection between global warming, our everyday choices, and the gradual disappearance of coral reef gardens.
