When it comes to unique group activities and adventures, Scottsdale has you covered with boredom-busting options that run the gamut from off-road desert tours and championship golf to world-class museums and the nation's largest wilderness preserve. Here are a few highlights to consider for your next Scottsdale program.
Desert Adventures: Scottsdale's Sonoran Desert is the perfect backdrop for desert adventures of all kinds. Hop aboard a Jeep, Hummer or you-drive-it C2 or Tom Car for an off-road tour of the desert’s most pristine expanses. Saddle-up for an early morning trail ride followed by a traditional campfire breakfast. Or float above it all in a hot air balloon for the most expansive scenic views.
Scenic Trails: Scottsdale is home to some of the best hiking you’ll find anywhere. Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve, the nation’s largest urban preserve, offers a multitude of trails for hikers of all skill levels. Other hiking hot spots include Pinnacle Peak in North Scottsdale and the Camelback Mountain’s Echo Canyon Trail near downtown.
Championship Golf: The golfers in your group can test their mettle on any of the Scottsdale area’s more than 200 courses. Options range from the tree-lined fairways of tradition layouts to the challenge and excitement of desert target-style designs, and most courses offer complete tournament coordination services.
Museum Mix: Start your group’s tour of Scottsdale’s world-class museums at the new Musical Instrument Museum, which features more than 12,000 instruments from countries around the world. Art aficionados will enjoy the cutting-edge exhibits at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. A visit to Taliesin West will showcase Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural genius. And for those interested in Native American culture, the renowned Heard Museum provides an in-depth look at the tribes of the Southwest.
Shopper's Paradise: Discover the latest fashion trends at Scottsdale’s more than 2,500 boutiques, shops and malls. For uniquely Arizona items, head to downtown Scottsdale where Native American jewelry, Western wear and Southwest gifts take center stage. Downtown also is home to the Southwest’s largest shopping destination, Scottsdale Fashion Square. In the city’s northern region, Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter provide open-air shopping experiences enhanced by lush landscaping and flowing fountains.
Night on the Town: When the sun sets, downtown Scottsdale sizzles with late-night diversions that include more than 80 wine bars, lounges and dance clubs. Your group can also take in the latest in music, theatre and comedy at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and other venue throughout the city.
