Just short drives from Sedona you'll find two delightful wineries – Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery in Oak Creek and Page Springs Cellars in Cornville. Established in 2002, Oak Creek Vineyards features six wine grape varieties - chardonnay, fume blanc, white zinfandel, merlot, syrah and zinfandel. They are open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for wine tasting and tours. Page Springs Cellars is a family-owned winery that offers daily wine tastings and vineyard tours from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. While they are waiting for their Page Springs vineyards to yield fruit (2006 being the first expected harvest), the family is bringing in the same grape varieties they have planted at their other vineyards, including Dos Cabezas in Wilcox, Arizona.

After a quick rest at your resort, take a scenic 40-minute drive southwest of Sedona to Clarkdale, home of the Verde Canyon Railroad. The four-hour train ride follows a historic route that is nestled between two national forests and adjacent to a designated wilderness area. Highlights along the way include towering vermillion cliffs, ancient Indian ruins, old-fashioned trestles and a 680-foot manmade tunnel. The expert narration and open-air gondola guides will leave you with a sense of history, archaeology, geology, wildlife and the Indian lore of the Verde Canyon. Most trains depart Clarkdale at 1:00 p.m. daily, although the schedule may vary by season (check online for current departure schedules). Venture back to Sedona for dinner, then take an Astronomy Tour of Sedona's night sky with Evening Sky Tours. They'll bring the telescopes right to your hotel or you can meet them at their "dark sky" site, just a 10-minute drive from West Sedona. Your tour begins with an overview of the constellations in the night sky led by one of their knowledgeable astronomers. Next, you'll get an up close view of 10 to 12 objects through Evening Sky's powerful telescopes. What better way to wrap-up your romantic Sedona experience than under a blanket of shimmering stars!
